MDBlog - A static Site Generator for your Blog

For a while now I’ve been wanting to create my own Static Site Generator. After wait long enough, I finally decided to do it. Written in GoLang, with a very simple build script I’m pretty happy with the result.

The primary purpose of it currently is to build a Blog. With full support for Markdown, this generator will generate an entirely CSS/HTML based site (with some JavaScript dependencies for things like Syntax Highlighting).

What can it do?

This site generator makes use of the GoMarkdwon to parse your markdown files into HTML. Aside from this, you can supply tags for your posts. These tags are automatically parsed and seperately browsable. You can also do things such as customize your Social URLs, set a logo, and override authors for a specific post via meta data.

Where can I see it?

You can see it in action right now. In fact you’re reading this blog post on a site that was generated using the utility.

How can I get involved?

Give it a try on my GitHub if you’re interested further. And if you’re really interested, feel free to fork the repository and add some features. I’m always open to reviewing pull requests!

I’m sorry for the short post, I just wanted to share this.
